Job Lead: Web Designer in Boston

My landlord while Michael and I lived in Arlington Heights 1998-2003 is looking for a web designer to join his new company. He is a great guy with an impressive background in technology. If you (or someone you know) is looking for a web designer job in Boston, please get in touch with me and I will connect you with him. It starts out as contract work and could lead to a fulltime job. Their office is in the Fort Point area near South Station.

Here are a few tidbits about the job that he sent me in an email earlier.

This is for a start up that provides community/social networking websites that I am working on. I need someone:

• technically competent in current presentation technology, pure CSS layout, some exprience with flash will also help (for doing demos). Also have experience with both static site and web application (JSP, etc).
• artistically have experience in designing retail/end customer (intead of corporate) websitse and web apps.
• If things work out, will become part of what we think is a very cool and successful start up.

  1. Hi Sooz,

Thanks for posting this message! I would be interested in learning more about the opportunity.

I am a freelance designer with over 8 years of experience designing over 35 websites. I also design for print as well. As the creative lead for a website selected as a finalist for a prestigious 2001 MIMC/MITX (Massachusetts Interactive Media Council) Award, my work has been ranked “one of New England’s best”. My illustrations also earned several Boston Globe awards including two 1994 New England Drama Festival Art Awards, and a 1990 Boston Globe Honorable Mention.

Although I don’t program in jsp, I do design sites in CSS. My work reflects an artistic sensibility given my fine arts background and having been educated at Wellesley College and MIT, I’m grounded with a versatile liberal arts education to relate to a breadth of industries.

I look forward to learning more about this opportunity!

    Best wishes,
    Janet Si-Ming Lee
