Assume People are Good

[Another post that makes it obvious this website truly is “the life and times of Sooz” and not a generic weblog.]

When I first moved to Boston in May of 1994, I had some culture shock. Despite my insistance that it wasn’t that big of a deal moving from smalltown Nebraska to semi-big city Boston, there were adjustments. Since then, I’ve noticed I’m a lot less trusting and a lot more skeptical of people. Which is really not the real me at all. Last year I wrote up a bunch of 2005 resolutions and I made it through a lot of them. This year, I have one resolution: assume people are good. If I’m proven wrong, oh well, that’s life. But I’d much prefer to be open and honest then have to wonder what someone else’s agenda is or is not. Ah, balance!
